Box Beef, Cools Farm
Grass Fed Red Poll Beef, Asparagus. We want you to experience the Beef of Old England - tender, marbled, grass fed, hung for at least 3 weeks and from a traditional Slow Food breed. We can deliver locally within 15 miles, but also send meat as we collect it from where it is butchered in a chilled box directly to anywhere in the UK. Our pedigree herd of Red Poll Cattle is ideally suited to forage our green fields on our organic farm from April to November. In June and July we make our own hay and haylage for the cattle to eat during the winter months. We cherish our animals and welcome visitors to our Open Farm Sunday events and at other times. Grass Fed Red Poll Beef
Local farmers Quentin and Maggie Edwards now have at least one Grass Fed Red Poll beast each month for sale in their Box Beef Scheme. Cools Farm, between East Knoyle and Tisbury, is Farm Assured, members of the Soil Association and the Red Poll Cattle Society. Those who have tasted our meat have remarked it is like beef used to be - because our animals develop slowly and naturally on our verdant pastures, without grain fattening, making the meat rich in Omega3. We take one or two beasts each month to our local abbatoir and then the meat is hung for a minimum of 3 weeks before being butchered, vaccum packed in 5-10kg boxes and collected by us for delivery.
