We are experts in sourdough and traditional breadmaking. Our bread is so good, we were chosen to represent Wales for the St David's day meal at the House of Commons. We've been talked about on Radio Wales and The Food Programme, and have many loyal fans such as first minister Rhodri Morgan, who called our Cardiff Sourdough 'a work of art'.
Bread courses
Why not come on one of our breadmaking courses? You can come as an individual or family to learn about great bread-making, and we provide training for corporate groups to combine team building with a real baking commission.
The one day course is designed for beginners or those with some experience who want to improve and learn about natural leavens and long fermentation processes.
• learn about traditional breadmaking techniques - balancing ingredients, yeast and bacterial development, temperature, kneading and dough care
• understand how to use yeast with the overnight process, and how to cultivate sourdough cultures
• make a variety of bread and take it home

Sourdough starter cultures
To make good sourdough you'll need a reliable culture. We sell two working cultures in use for at least 30 years, in semi-dried form from our own bakery, which are much easier to activate than dried cultures. We include instructions on re-activating the culture and some basic bread recipes.
