A fine pear of excellent flavour - juicy, sweet, melting. Medium to large fruits nearly as wide as tall. Yellow, some with a red flush. Appreciates a warm sunny position. Dates back to 1849 and introduced into the UK in 1858.
Moderate vigour Quince A rootstock. One year 'maiden' trees 1.2-1.5m. Can grow to 3.5-5.5m height and spread in 10+ years. Usually support with stake for first 2-3 years.
