Hugh’s Fish Fight: Celebrity or people power?

Well done Hugh on raising awareness to the madness of the fishing industry and forcing change for the good. Just like Jamie and raising awareness to turkey twisslers and dodgy school meals, celebrity and TV, making the world a better place!

It is however pretty sad that it takes a celebrity to recognise a wrong and fix it. Isn’t that what governments are supposed to do? And is it really celebrities or the power of the people that force change?

In the new ‘social media’ world of the internet, email, facebook, and twitter, perhaps we can right wrongs by all sharing information and changing our habits to make the world, and our community, a better place?

If you like a good ‘fight’ join BigBarn’s local food campaign and switch from the supermarket to local food that is normally fresher, better and cheaper.

By shopping locally you are putting your money back in to the local economy and encouraging producers to grow more food for a more sustainable, social, local, food industry. Much better than the anti social, profit focused, national one. You can even join the local food industry and Crop for your local shop. Read more here or see our video at a school.
