This is a great shop, with pleasant, knowledgeable staff and great produce. The shop has its own abattoir in a nearby village and they make the best bacon - I particularly like the smoked back: hardly any fat and now shrinkage when one cooks it. Their sausages are superb. They regularly win the Ludlow Food Festival's Sausage Trail. This year (2010) they won both the public's and the experts' awards with their "Hedgerow Delight" sausage - a succulent blend of pork, hand-picked hawthorn berries, ginger and leek.
