Denton lies four miles west of Grantham, on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir. The underlying rock, of which many village houses are built, is Jurassic Ironstone and iron ore was quarried in the parish until the 1970s. If you are a keen walker you can set off from Denton along part of the Viking Way, which starts on the banks of the Humber in the north and winds its way through Lincolnshire to finish on the shores of Rutland Water. Sharp and deeply flavoured, we recommend our Denton Damson Delightful jam to add to your pack-up as you walk along the Way.
