AM1NAH Halal Lamb Tallow is a delicious, stable and nutrient-dense natural and healthy cooking fat sourced from halal and tayyib, grass-fed, free-range and naturally raised lambs that are free-from the hormones and chemicals that are present amongst factory-farmed animals. Tallow is an excellent cooking fat that has a high smoke point (420 degrees) and is stable at high temperatures. Unlike many other oils and fats, it does not create the free radicals that is a concern with refined vegetable oils. As a saturated animal fat, tallow almost looks like a hybrid of coconut oil and butter, but with a dry, waxy texture.

Pure culinary tallow from grass fed lambs is biologically compatible with our bodies’ largest organ, our skin. It contains naturally occurring fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, K, and E. It also contains important fats such as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which has anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory properties and palmitoleic acid that has natural anti-microbial properties.

Traditional tallow, once an essential main ingredient in most homes, has been out of vogue in recent years as vegetable oils and spreads such as canola and sunflower oils replaced them in every day cooking. We are proud to be able to finally introduce our traditional rendered halal lamb tallow to the halal food market.

What can you do with halal lamb tallow?

You will love cooking with tallow. You can fry it, bake it and use it for any savoury dish that requires cooking oil. Try it when cooking your next omelette, flash frying seasonal greens (fry some fresh greens with some organic garlic slices, kosher salt, coarse black pepper) and use for making the perfect pie crust.

It is useful for the following cooking techniques:

Roasting – Organic root and bulb vegetables, Halal and Tayyib, Grass-fed/Free-range red meats, Wild game, Wild fish, Organically-reared white meats…
Basting – For keeping roasting joints juicy whilst heating or cooking by pouring or brushing drippings over it repeatedly throughout the cooking process

AM1NAH is a firm supporter of the nose-to-animal cooking and eating movement – it’s a way to ensure that we are using the whole animal – a practice our forefathers understood the value of and that we are re-learning how to do today.
