Saxelbye is a small, relatively isolated agricultural village located within a dip of the Leicestershire Wolds some three miles west of Melton Mowbray. Most of the village is a designated conservation area and on paying a visit you will find a row of 17th century cottages now home to Websters, producers of a Stilton cheese highly regarded amongst connoisseurs. Visitors are welcome at Websters which produces unpressed, blue veined cheese made from cows’ milk, with cream added. Our Plum and Cinnamon Spice chutney makes a sumptuous addition to any good cheese and if you are eating Websters’ Blue Stilton you might like to enhance the experience further by sipping a vintage port or smooth stout.
