Coconut Ice

Put milk, sugar and cream of tartar into a saucpan
Stir over a low heat until sugar desolves and the mixture boils for 5 minutes
Cool slightly then beat well
When it begins to thicken, add coconut and continue beating until mixture is quite thick
Pour into a greased cake-tin
When cold, cut into squares
