BigBarn is a Community Interest Company and effectively owned by everyone. So please help build your Local Food Community and a better food industry?

There are lots of ways you can help as shown below with videos.

Did you know that helping each other is what makes us happy!

1. Help build our shared Local Food map.
Please check your Local Food Map and email us any errors or omissions. And please ask your local producers to update their page including adding their latest news and offers.

The more up to date our map is the more it will encourage local food trade and other organisations will want to promote it on their websites.

2. Shop in our online MarketPlace.
Use and tell your friends about our MarketPlace where you can shop with 700 different producers who delivery directly to you.

The more trade the more producers join and add more products. The more producers we have the more we can get them to team up as hubs to deliver a full shopping basket of plastic free, low food miles, food. You could even manage a hub?

3. Sign up and tell your friends about ALERTS
Our Alert emails show a Deal of the Day, taster videos and your Local Food news and offers.

Alerts is a regular automated, quick, email to encourage more Local Food trade & production and in turn help build your more diverse local food system Subscribe here

4. Join Crop for the Shop.
You can join our Crop for the Shop scheme where you can grow food and sell it through local producers marked with a Carrot flag on the map.

Or you can encourage your local school to grow food for the school kitchen and local shops. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the local school, shops and farmers all worked together to build your local food community! For help with this please call us on 01480 890 970

5. Recite the BigBarn Grace.
Please recite the BigBarn grace before any important functions such as your carefully prepared meals, Sunday lunch, weddings, bar mitzvah, etc

You could even video your grace and add it to Social networks or email it to us and we will add it to our networks.

6. Add a recipe to KIS Cookery and get famous?.
Do you have a signature dish that is simple to make? Please get someone to film you and add the video to BigBarn’s KIS (Keep it Simple) Cookery video channel.

Our channel is designed to show that cooking is not that difficult and will even allow users to type in what’s in their fridge and get a video recipe to match

We will promote your video on social networks and you might become the next famous chef!

7. Make a video about your local Shop.
Please help promote your local shop by making a video for them. Please show what is in the shop and try and interview the owner, or manager and tease what is good about the shop.

This could include plastic free, fresh, low cost, artisan, etc.

The shop owner may even want to pay you or get help making the best of their BigBarn icon & webpage.

8. Get the BigBarn map on more websites.

If you have a website or know any good websites, like your local Council, or Tourism website or even one of your friends, like Jamie Oliver for instance, please tell them to add the local food map and other content, like KIS Cookery.

It is very easy to set up and we can send a special affiliate code to earn commission on trade. More here or email us

The more websites that have the map the more people find it and more those listed want to update their pages.

All helping build your more sustainable, vibrant, inclusive, local food community.

Thank you for your help, we must not follow the USA where 40% of food is wasted and the food industry and food related disease are effectively bankrupting the health industry.
