Langar is situated in the Vale of Belvoir, just as the Vale broadens out, and when naming our marmalade we were reminded of the local yellow clay that once made the village the go-to place for earthenware pots.
It is also home to the church of St Andrews, commonly known as the Cathedral in the Vale, a one-time place of Saxon pilgrimage. Church records also make note of several famous residents including the 1st Earl Howe, an Admiral of some repute, and Samuel Butler, best remembered for his satirical novel, The Way of All Flesh, an attack on the hypocrisy of the Victorian era.
Our contribution to Langar's notoriety is a mellow sweet-tasting marmalade with a sharp lemon note on opening the jar. Enjoy!
